The old Gothic baptismal font of Opole Cathedral was buried in a garden.
About the film
In this short film I fly past the cathedral and over St Sebastian's Church, right below us. In 1852 the cathedral rebuilt its Scapular Chapel and pulled down the baptistery: the old font was buried in the garden, and its neo-Gothic successor went to St Hedwig's Chapel.
The guide also tells about St Sebastian's Church: it owes the little turret on its roof to a slater named Drescher, who came from Nysa (Neisse).
If you are ever in Opole, look at the cathedral's green copper roof and, at St Sebastian's, at the turret on its roof.
